Season One - Summer - Burb

The Burb Family of Pleasanview

John Burb - Family - LTW Golden Anniversary

Jennifer Burb - Fortune - LTW Business Tycoon
Lucy Burb - child

The Burbs just moved back to Pleasantview.  They moved into this slightly modified starter house.

It's very simple and basic which leaves them enough cash to buy the things they need.  Right next door live the Oldies in an identical house.

I should admit now that I have never been a fan of the Burb family.  I LOVE John but have never liked Jennifer.  They started out as a one bolt couple.  I set out to fix that.  I had to if they were going to stick it out until a golden anniversary.

So it turns out John has a thing for stinky women in glasses and hates black hair.  So Jennifer got a makeover.  I find that I actually like her better with the brown hair.  She looks nice.

Jennifer has a thing for men in glasses and makeup but hates cologne.  So John bought glasses and lip gloss.  We added stubble to counteract the lip gloss.  Yes, I can live with this.

We now have a two bolt couple who will stay together until the end, barring any tragedies.  Now we can get on with things. We bought some basic furniture and Cornwall (?) Capp walked by.  Jennifer greeted him and started making friends.  The only people the Burbs know are the Pleasants who are related to Jennifer.  Daniel Pleasant is her brother and his daughters are her nieces.

The welcome wagon show up.  It's their closest neighbors: the Oldies and Brandi Broke.

After the sun set, John made soup for everyone.  Everyone sat around and chatted.  It was a relaxing evening.

The next day John started his new job in the politics field.  It was the highest paying job available so he took it.  Jennifer was trying to hold out for her dream job.  With the day to herself, she went downtown and purchased cell phones for herself and John.

She stayed for a while.  Another storm came up and started zapping folks.  Issac Bell was one of the unlucky ones.

Jennifer taught Lucy to study.  John was still working I think.

Which was to bad as Jennifer really wasn't feeling well.  After a few visits to the bathroom, Jennifer went to the computer and accepted that political job that she didn't really want.  It would have to do until she could find what she was after.

Eventually, Jennifer announce that she was expecting.  John of course was over the moon.

John and Lucy celebrated in their own special way.

If Lucy was uncertain about having a new baby brother or sister, she only shared that with her monkey.

The family continued to meet everyone who walked by.  Mostly, that seemed to be people from Veronaville.  Perhaps their street was a cut through to downtown.

The Monty's and the Capps especially were very loud vocal people.  Their "discussions" in her home seemed to raise Jennifer's blood pressure just a bit.

Especially when the fists got to flying.  Rude.  That's what it is.

And in the midst of the chaos, Lucy quietly became a teen.

Lucy chose the life of popularity.  She hopes to have 20 best friends someday.  So far she's only really friends with her cousins.

She got a makeover since I knew I had a hair style that would look perfect with that outfit.

The next morning after John and Lucy had left for the day, Jennifer goes into labor.

She gives us a lovely daughter.  She was named Loren.

Pink was added to Lucy's purple room in the form of baby furniture.  I doubt Lucy will like it but there is really no where else for it to go.

John was thrilled to have a daughter.  He wanted a baby very badly.  He is doing well in the politics field and has had several promotions.

As summer turns to fall, we leave this happy family.  Jennifer still longs for her dream job.  John is working on a promotion.  Lucy is making friends.  Loren is almost a toddler.

  1. That was sweet! It's funny about the chemistry bolts between a couple, isn't it. I've had Sims fall in love with each other on their own accord when they only had one bolt between them, so I guess John and Jennifer would have been alright. But Jennifer really looks a lot better with her new hairdo, and Lucy is one of the prettiest teenagers in town anyway. Sadly, she died way too young in my game (in a fire at her dorm at uni).

  2. I am not a fan of the Burbs either, John is like playing a peice of cardboard, and I don't like the fact Jennifer is not close to Lucy when first opening the lot. The Burbs had twins in my game. heh

  3. I really like Jennifer's new look, it does look good on her. I've only played the Burbs once, and wasn't a huge fan back then, but we'll see what I think when I get to them in Megalahood.
